ARMY PROMOTIONS
7th MEDIUM BATTERY According to a Gazette notice two non-commissioned officers of the 7th Medium Battery, New Zealand Artillery, have been promoted to commissioned rank and posted to their own unit. They are T. A. Percival and D. J. A. Johnston, both of whom will have the rank of secondlieutenant. INFANTRY N.C.O.’s TRAIN Officers and non-commissioned officers of the Ist Battalion of the 16th Waikato Regiment who are undergoing an intensified course of training at Narrow Neck camp prior tc the full mobilisation of the unit on October 1 are progressing satisfactorily. Numbers of the men will be granted promotions while seven, including privates and non-commis-sioned officers, have been recommended for promotion to the rank of second-lieutenant. Those recommended for commissioned rank include three men from Te Awamutu, two from Hamilton, and one from Otorohanga and Te Kuiti.
