WEDDING

SHATTOCK—KEARDON j The wedding was solemnised on ; Saturday. August 31, at the Methodist Church, Tc Kuiti, of Miss Stella 1 Patricia Reardon, youngest daughter ■ > 1 Mrs A. A. McLean, of King Street, To Kuiti. and the late Mr Reardon, ind Mr William Richard Shattock, of Hamilton. The ceremony was ’ performed by the Rev. A. O. Jones and Mrs G. Elliott played the wedj ding music. The church has been : beautifully arranged with spring j flowers by friends of the bride. ■ The bride, who entered the church i with her stepfather, Mr A. A. Mc- ; Lean, was wearing a charming gown i of thistle rose designed with a fiti ting pointed waistline and a gathered j yoke, the neckline of which was fin- ' ished with a narrow edge of white j stiffened lace. The high-shouldered I sleeves tapered to the forearm, and | the skirt effected a bustle back. She wore a hat of natural straw trimmed with clover flowers and worn with a Burgundy veil. She carried a Burgundy muff, and a bouquet of pink sweetpeas, carnations and maiden- | hair fern. | Mrs M. C. Bent, of Mangapiko, ati tended the bride as matron-of- ! honour, and was wearing a frock of Burgundy faille fashioned with a fitting bodice, a full skirt and short pleated sleeves. She wore a white lace straw hat and carried a white satin muff trimmed with a spray of hyacinths. Mr 11. C. Bent, of Te Awamutu-, carried out the duties of best man. Following the ceremony, a recep* lion was held at the Carlton Tearooms, which were artistically decorated with pink and white flowers. The mother of the bride received the guests wearing a black wool georgette frock relieved with white, and a black hat. Miss Ruth Shattock, of Hamilton, was in a Burgundy and gold threaded cloque ensemble and a black hat. When Mr and Mrs W. R. Shattock left on their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a navy blue ensemble and a navy blue hat. They, will make their home in Hamilton.
