PRICE REGULATION
BRITISH SYSTEM FAVOURED (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) NAPIER, Saturday Dissatisfaction with the present system of price regulation in New Zealand was expressed at a meeting of the Napier section of the Wellington Labourers’ Union, which adopted the following resolution unanimously: That this meeting calls on the Government to put into operation the system of price regulation committees as in being in Great Britain. This system has a central price regulation committee with local price regulation committees operating throughout the Kingdom. These committees have access to all records and documents. On the central and local committees the workers and the housewives have representation. It was stated that it was not the intention of the resolution to make jobs for people, but that hundreds of housewives would gladly pay for the privilege of being allowed to assist in keeping the cost of living on a plane which would make it posi sible for people to live.
