FIERCE BOMBARDMENT

FRENCH COASTLINE ATTACKED EXPLOSIONS AND FIRES THUD FELT IN ENGLAND (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 14 Watchers on the English Coast during the Royal Air Force bombardment on Friday night saw, along the whole of the French coastline from Boulogne to north of Dunkirk, the flashes of exploding bombs and shells, as well as tracer bullets and flares. The thud of explosions could be felt on the Kentish coast.

Observers say it was the fiercest and most prolonged bombardment of the coast so far.
