SCUFFLE AT STATUE
POET’S SON INVOLVED SCENE AT PILGRIMAGE After the Henry Lawson anniversary ceremony, says a Sydney paper, Mr Joseph Henry Lawson, son of the poet, had an altercation with a member of the pilgrimage. They were separated after a scuffle. As the ceremony was linishing, while Mr Roderic Qmnn was telling of his early associations with Henry Lawson, a scuffle started at the rear of the assemblage. “I just had to hit a man,” said Mr J. H. Lawson, son of the poet, “He made a remark I resented." Mr Lawson is an officer of the Education Department He has published some verse, but says that it does not pay him to devote much time to it, notwithstanding the famous name of his
father. Delivering the main oration of “Henry Lawson, the Man.” Mr Justice Evatt said that Lawson's extreme sensitiveness made him vul•vable and caused him unhappiness.
