RAIDS ON CONTINENT

ROYAL AIR FORCE SUCCESS MILITARY OBJECTIVES HIT SUSTAINED ATTACKS MADE (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 16, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 15 Enemy shipping and barge concentrations in Channel ports and many supply depots and rail communications in Germany were again heavily bombed last night by the Royal Aif Force. An Air Ministry communique states: Last night strong forces of f bombers made heavy and sustained attacks on shipping, barge concentraI tions, military equipment and stores j assembled in Channel ports, also on distribution centres and lines of communication used by the enemy for the movement of supplies. The ports of Antwerp, Flushing, Dunkirk, Calais and Boulogne were heavily bombed. Supply depots at Osnabruck, Mannheim, Aachem, Hamm, Krefeld and Brussels were attacked, also rail communications at Rheinehaus, Sundern, Husten and Westhofen. Our pilots and crews pressed home the attacks in spite of severe weather and heavy opposition from the ground defences. Much damage was done, particularly to the docks at Antwerp. Gun emplacements at Cap Gris Nez and several enemy aerodromes were also bombed. One of our aircraft is missing.
