Jackie Cooper’s £20,000 a Year Jackie Cooper, whose comc-back effort started some two years ago, is now hitting the high spots with a new Paramount contract which calls for the studio to pay him £20,000 a year for the next eight years, and in return he is to make four pictures

between every January and December. Deanna Durbin to Marry? It is rumoured very strongly in Hollywood that Deanna Durbin is to marry Vaughan Pauli, assistant director of the Durbin films. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers Fred Astaire is to do one more dance film with Ginger Rogers. Roland Young Sued for Divorce Roland Young, London-born actor, who scores a hit in “Irene,” is being sued for divorce by his wife, who alleges desertion. Expecting the Stork Joan Fontaine, who made such a hit in “Rebecca,” is expecting the stork, and she and husband Brian Aherne are very excited about it. Players Help Red Cross Cary Grant is reported to be handing over to the Red Cross the £30,000 that he is due to receive for co-starr-ing with Katharine Hepburn in “ Philadelphia Story.” And American-born Gracie Allen —the stupid half of the Burns and Allen partnership—is similarly gesturing by giving to the Red Cross all the proceeds she gets from the sale of her crazy book “ How to Become President.”
