August 26 Captain Torkild Rieber has resigned a £30.000 a year position as chairman of the board of the Texas (Oil) Corporation as the outcome cl unfavourable publicity concerning his relationship with Dr. Gerhard; Westrick, counsellor at the German Embassy. Captain Rieber. who spent his early life at sea, and now has large oil interests. bought a motor-car for the German representative with 1570 dollars from Tex?s Corporation funds.
