WOMEN VISITORS
PAPAKURA MILITARY CAMP j ACCOMMODATION HOSTEL I (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday A house for the accommodation of women who come from distant homes to visit soldiers at Papakura Camp will solve the accommodation which these women relatives and fiancees have hitherto faced. The property consists of 4] acres of land on the Wairoa Road, a little way outside the township, with an "eightroomed single-storey house and a good orchard. Mrs W. R. Wilson recently suggested to the Provincial Patriotic Council that means should be found for purchasing a suitable large house which she had discovered about a quarter of a mile from the camp, and on which she had obtained an option. The National Fund Board has agreed to find the purchase-price of the property, £I3OO, while the provincial council will spend up to £7OO on alterations, improvements and furniture. The property will be vested in the two bodies jointly. Guests’ length of stay will be limited to a few days, and women from Auckland and other places within easy reach of Papakura will not be accepted.
