HISTORICAL TREATMENT L (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) PUKEJJOHE, Monday There was presented to the Franklin County Council today a 16-page treatise on the lo.wer reaches of the Waikato River by the late Mr H. E. R. L. Wily, of Mauku. The treatise gave a brief history of the handling of the river, with reference to the Waikato River Board, of which Mr Wily was a member. Accompanying it was a large number of tracings-, reports and press cuttings concerning the river which Mr Wily had collected.

The county engineer, Mr A. C. Bettany, stated that the treatise was written by Mr Wily in the last three weeks of his life and was handed to him 24 hours before Mr Wily’s death. The council resolved to express its appreciation to Mr Wily’s son, Mr C. H. J. Wily, of Puni, Pukekohe, and to forward copies of the treatise to the Raglan, Waikato and Waipa County Councils.
