FIERCE BATTLE
RAIDS OVER BRITAIN NAZI PLANES DESTROYED (United Press Assn.—Eiec. Tel. Copyright) (Received August 23, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 22 German planes were over Wales tonight. A Spitfire brought down a raider this afternoon. One of the crew is dead and three were interned. Three raiders are believed to have been shot down tonight in a fierce battle over south-east England.
Anti-aircraft fire elsewhere brought down another.
