RECORDINGS FOR AUGUST LESS THAN LAST YEAR With nearly half the month past, the rain recording for August is slightly less than for the corresponding period last year. The rainfall for the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. this morning was .14 inches, bringing the total for the month to date to 2.59in., compared with 3.06in. for this time last August. The average rainfall for August is 3.96in. Rain did not commence in August last year till the Bth.
