WEDDING

MULIIOLL AND—FIRMAN A recent wedding at Cambridge was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church, when Francis Joan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs B. E. Firman, late of Taupo and now of Cambridge, was married to Francis Stephen Trevor, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. B. Mulholland, of Papanui, Christchurc. The Rev*. C. W. Chandler was the officiating minister and Mr R. B. Boyce was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, was wearing a gown of ivory satin. The bodice was tucked from a shaped panel at the front and the skirt fell in heavy folds, being also tucked from a panel at the back to form a graceful train. She wore a filmy veil of hancl-embroid-ered tulle which fell from a coronet of orange blossom to form a second train. Her sheaf was of white arum lilies. The Attendants The bridegroom’s sister, Miss Nancy Mulholland, of Christchurch, and Miss Myrtle Pennell, of Cambridge, were the two attendants. They wore similar frocks of cyclamen silk tulle mounted on taffeta. The bodices were tight-fitting and the skirts billowed into filmy folds, being ruched with taffeta at the hemline. Similar trimmings finished the tulle boleros worn with the frocks. Silver lame and briar roses were plaited into bands which were worn on the head and they carried sheafs of camellias, blossom and daphne. Nita Busst, the flowergirl, also wore a cyclamen tulle frock and carried a basket of flowers. Mr S. Jackson, of National Park, was the best man and Mr M. Matkovich was the groomsman. A reception was afterwards held at “Oaklands,” the residence of Mr and Mrs Firman. The hostess was wearing a brocaded georgette gown with furs and a shoulder spray of violets. For travelling, the bride chose a suit of cyclamen wool fabric worn with navy accessories and fox furs.
