FIRST CASUALTY

NEAR EAST OPERATIONS CORPORAL RECEIVES WOUNDS (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Tuesday The first casualty us a result of enemy action involving New Zealand troops operating in the Near East is reported from Egypt. Mr O. Pussell, of Kimbolton, has received advice that his son. Corporal O. T. Pussell. suffered flesh wounds in the arm and leg when an aerial bomb exploded among a transport supply column. Corporal Pussell, who is the youngest of the family, was 23 on the day he landed in Egypt. He was a member of the Manawatu Mounted Rifles for three years. He later spent some time in Wellington, where he enlisted in the first echelon. He has a brother stationed at a coastal defence post in Wellington and another serving with the British Army in England.
