GUNSHOT WOUND
VICTIM DIES IN HOSPITAL ACCIDENT ON BARGE (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) DARGAVILLE, Monday The victim of a severe gunshot wound in his left upper arm, Mr Victor Ansin, son of Captain Ansin, retired lighthouse-keeper, died at the Northern Wairoa Hospital on Saturday. Mr Ansin was travelling with companions on a barge in the Otamatea River on June 30 when the accidental discharge of a gun inflicted injuries. Later the arm was amputated. Mr Ansin was employed as assistant inspector of fisheries on the Otamatea River. He is survived by his wife and a young child. The inquest was adjourned. FATAL COLLISION CYCLIST KILLED BY CAR VEHICLE FAILS TO STOP (By Telegrapii.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Knocked down by a motor-car on the Great South Road last evening, a cyclist died from injuries a few minutes later. The victim was: Mr Norman Herbert York, aged 35, married, a gardener, of 4 Veronica Road, New Lynn. Mr York was riding toward the city with a companion at 6.30 o’clock and near the Whau Bridge was struck by a motor-car travelling at high speed. The car did not stop. COLLISION BETWEEN CARS RAGLAN CONTRACTOR HURT (By Telegrapb.—Special to Times) PUKEKOHE, Monday When the motor-car he was driving was involved in a collision with another motor-car on the Great South ] Road, near Pukekohe, to-day, Mr William George Arnold, aged 46, married, a contractor, of Raglan, suffered concussion and injuries to the right hand. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital.
