ROOSEVELT’S CAMPAIGN A PLEDGE TO SECRECY PLANS FOR THIRD TERM (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) HYDE PARK, July 7 President Roosevelt and Mr J. Farley, Postmaster-General, conferred for two hours. The President apparently revealed his plans for the first time and pledged Mr Farley to secrecy. Mr Farley said: "The President was extremely frank with him. I am thoroughly aware what he has in mind, but am not at liberty to speak. Only the President can speak on that subject.” The Democratic Convention meets a week hence. Meanwhile a powerful movement to draft the President for a third term is gathering force. Postmaster-General to Resign It is announced that Mr Farley will resign from the position of Postmaster-General after the Democratic convention in order to become head of the New York Yankees baseball team.
