GIBRALTAR BOMBED
ATTACK BY FRENCH PLANES BRITISH DESTROYER HIT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, July 8 Aeroplanes believed to be French heavily bombed Gibraltar on Sunday, apparently hitting a destroyer. Destroyers are constantly patrolling around the Rock. The aircraft-car-rier Ark Royal has arrived. The British Admiralty denies a statement issued from Vichy that French sailors were machine-gunned by the British in the attack on the battle-cruiser Dunkerque. The Admiralty adds that the statement was merely one that had been dictated from Berlin.
