EMERGENCY TRAINING

MATAMATA FORMS COMPANY (Special to Times) MATAMATA, Monday At an enthusiastic meeting attended by about 150 men, a defence company was formed in Matamata for the purpose of undertaking training in duties that might be of assistance in case of emergency. The meeting was addressed by Messrs M. E. Fitzgerald and H. E. Schofield, after which a motion to form the company was carried with enthusiasm. The following executive of five was elected by ballot from 11 nominations: Messrs R. J. Bennett, D. C. Waterson, H. E. Schofield, E. J. Mclntyre and W. Emslie. Arrangements were made to hold the first parade during the weekend.
