PRODUCTION DRIVE

dairy board plan FARMERS’ UNION APPROVAL Further approval of the New Zealand Dairy Board’s scheme to coordinate the efforts of primary producers to increase production was given at the monthly meeting of the Waikato Sub-Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union today. The plan, in brief, consists primarily of the setting up of district committees to obtain surveys of the amount of farm labour required, and generally to organise on a proper footing local district endeavours to assist in the national production drive. At a special meeting of producers in Hamilton this week the Dairy Board’s plan was outlined by Mr W. E. Hale, chairman of the board, and Mr R. A. Candy, chairman of the Herd Recording Council of the board. At the meeting a resolution was passed, recommending the Waikato Sub-Provincial Executive to consider the scheme favourably and to proceed with the setting up of district committees. The resolution was endorsed at today’s meeting of the sub-provincial executive, and it was decided to circularise branches in the sub-pro-vince in regard to the setting up of district committees.
