IYIATAMATA QUOTATIONS The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their Matamata stock sale on Wednesday, a fair yarding- or sheep comprising mostly fat and forward-conditioned hoggets was penned. Bidding was keen and prices fully up to late Frankton rates. Cattle: An average entry of all classes, including a good offering of ox and cow and heifer beef which met a keen demand. Prices showed a firming tendency, with boner cows remaining on a par with late rates. Dairy Cattle: A good entry of cows and heifers met a keen demand. Good quality cattle, close to profit, sold readily at very firm rates, while more backward sorts were not so eagerly sought. Pigs.- a light entry of all classes of pigs, with bidding throughout steady and values fully up to recent quotations. Realisations were:— Sheep: Prime rat wethers,' 30s; heavy, rat two-tooth wethers, 26s 9d; fat medium hoggets, 22s 3d to 23s 3d; lighter, 193 to 20s Id; full conditioned hoggets, 15s 6d to 16s 10s; store conditioned, 13s 3d to 13s 6d. Training College Burglary Thieves entered the buildings of i the Auckland Teachers’ Training ; College, Epsom, in the early hours j of yesterday morning. Using a I powerful explosive the intruders forced the strong room in the main office and took about £2, leaving a trail of damage. About a month ago the rooms in the college were i thoroughly searched by thieves with- J out result and, when the students’ i activities were transferred to the ! Mount Albert School during the influenza epidemic, their new head- I quarters were the scene of another | burglary. On this occasion there was | some loss and, as a result, littie of i value has since been left overnight j at the college.
