LOST CITIZENSHIP

ENLISTED IN CANADA UNITED STATES RULING (United ness Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received July 3, 1 p.m.) MONTREAL, July 2 A United States board of inquiry ruled that Philip Stegerer, aged 26 years, of Washington, has forfeited his United State! citizenship by joining the Canadian active service units, from which he was honourably discharged as medically unfit. The board refused permission to Stegerer to return to the United States. This is believed to be a precedent, whereby hundreds may be deprived of their citizenship because they swore allegiance to His Majesty.
