WORKER STRUCK BY WINCH (By Telegrapn.—Special to Times) WHANGAREI. Tuesday Fatal injuries were suffered by Mr Harry Mahanga, a Maori, aged 30, married, of Pataua, today, when he was struck on the head by the shaft of a horse-operated winch. With other men, Mr Mahanga w’as engaged at pulling willows from a stream at Waiotou. While the strain was on the winch the shaft broke, and the stump of the broken shaft swung round, striking Mr Mahanga on the head.
