A request from the Te Awamutu management committee for the publication of literature to combat communism was referred to the public questions committee of the General Assembly. A report on the triennial visitation to the Cambridge congregation was submitted. It indicated a very satisfactory state of affairs, betokening activity in all branches of congregational work. A finding was adopted, which the Rev. J. H. Combes will convey to the congregation on a date to be arranged. The Rev. J. C. Young submitted a report on work in the Taumaranui charge, and it was decided that the clerk convey the Presbytery’s congratulations upon the progress shown. On the recommendation of the students’ committee, Presbytery recommended the acceptance of Mr R. G. Chambers, formerly of Hamilton East, as a student for the ministry. The Waihi charge intimated that it would take from Coromandel the oversight of the Hikuai, the matter to be reviewed six months hence. Remits sent down from Assembly regarding the calling of ministers and the beneficiary funds were approved.
