BUSINESSMEN PRAY
LARGE NUMBERS ATTEND SERIES OF MEETINGS BEGIN The first of a series of noon prayer meetings, organised by the Hamilton Ministers’ Association in conjunction with the Borough Council, was held in the Chamber of Commerce room yesterday. There was a representative attendance and the little room was 1 taxed to accommodate those who . came and went according to their j lunch-hour arrangements. The period was divided into two sessions. The Rev. V. A. Bianchi presided over the first and explained that the meetings were in response to i a request by business men and would | be continued each Wednesday until • further notice. The Rev. J. W. Park- | er assisted in the second session and, in a few remarks, stressed the need for more earnestness on the part of the people. We were in the midst of a very grave crisis, he said, and the irregularities of football and dances and other such things on Sundays would not make for the Divine blessing and the help we needed. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert and Mr J. R Fow are to take the two sessions at the next meeting.
