EUREKA FUNCTION
SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD The Eureka Hall Society held a very successful dance in the hall recently in aid of the funds for the South Auckland Queen, Mrs Gordon Matthews, there being a good attendance. Modern and old-time dancing was enjoyed, the extras being played by Mrs Nott. Novelty dances were won by Mr and Mrs W. Jones, Mr W. Jones, junr., and Misses E. Clarkin and J 3. Jones. The competition winners were Airs Pomeroy and Mr A. Harlow. Songs by Air Wood, of Rotorua, where much appreciated and after supper, Air C. G. Hunt, secretary of the South Auckland branch of the Red Cross, thanked all who had contributed towards the success of the function. Mr J. R. Hooper was master of ceremonies. Johns, emerald green crepe; M. Hunter, ivory taffeta; E. Clarkin, cyclamen waterwave taffeta; U. Townsend, cerise taffeta; J. Cresswell, black satin; H. Saleman, floral georgette; D. Griffiths, blue marquisette; B. Jones, cerise georgett<p; B. Hogan, maize patterned satin; W. Ranstead, white floral georgette; Al. Jones, blue chiffon; Nott, blue Chantilly lace.
