FIDUCIARY ISSUE INCREASED DISCOUNT RATE UNCHANGED (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received June 14, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 13 The following are the latest Bank of England returns:— Issue Department.—Notes in circulation £578,300,000, notes in the banking department £51,900,000, other Government securities £615,200,000, other securities £3,300,000, silver coin £500,000.
Banking Department.—Rest £3,300,000, public deposits £34,900,000, bankers’ deposits £103,200,000, other accounts £48,400,000, Government securities £124,000,000 discounts and advances £3,900,000, other securities £23,000,000, notes and coin £53,400,000. Ratio of reserves to liabilities, 28.63.
The Bank of England discount rate remains unchanged at 2 per cent. The fiduciary issue has been increased to £630,000,000.
