CALL FOR WORKERS

PRODUCE ARMY CLOTHING OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday An appeal for women volunteers for the production of army clothing was made by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb. The Minister said there was a dearth of women workers in establishments producing the latest military battle dress and other clothing for the forces.

At present there was no more important service which women workers of New Zealand could render than that of helping in the manufacture of army clothing. It was imperative that additional labour be recruited and trained for this purpose, and the Minister called on women and girls (including married women) who were able to do this work to communicate with the Labour Department in any of the four main centres.
