FIRES IN PARIS
BOMBARDMENT BY NAZIS GOVERNMENT AT TOURS STREET=BY=STREET FIGHT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received June 12, 11 a.m.) PARIS, June 11 The military authorities have taken over control of the capital. All highways leading to the city have been barricaded.
Preparations have been made to defend Paris street by street. Meanwhile a great exodus of civilians proceeds. An American correspondent in Paris reported that masses of German bombers are flying over Paris and part of the city is in flames. Overnight, Tours became the seat of Government.
Members of the Diplomatic Corps, leaving Paris, reached their destination safely after being bombed during the journey.
