Smash-and-Grab Raid

The plate-glass window of Read Brothers, jewellers, Karangahape Road, Auckland, was broken into early this morning by a thief who used the heel of an iron shoe-last, and inserting his hand through the hole stole gold rings, gold and silver watches and other jewellery, valued at £IOO. This was the second such raid within a week.
