ELECTRICITY LOAN

RAGLAN SPECIAL AREA PROPOSAL TO RAISE £13,000 It was stated at the monthly meeting of the Central Waikato Electric Power Board today that the poll for the No. 2 loan, of £13,000, over the Raglan special area (Waimai-Te Akau) would be taken on June 20. The chairman, Mr T. Hinton, presided over the meeting. The purpose of the loan was to provide for the construction and erection of transmission lines, transformer stations and other equipment for the reticulation of the special area. It was proposed that the term of the loan should be not more than 26 years, at an interest rate not exceeding 4 per cent per annum. The proposed security for the payment of instalments was shown as a special rate of 3-5 of a penny in the £ on the capital value of all rateable property in the special area.
