Grading of Produce

A proposal that dairy produce graders should be transferred at more frequent intervals in order to obtain a more uniform system of grading was put forward at the Dairy Board ward conference in Invercargill. In supporting the request, Mr D. Rutledge said that no reflection on the graders was intended. Each district, however, had its product with a flavour peculiar to itself and it was desirable that graders should have a knowledge of as many varieties of cheese as possible. The remit, which was "That it be a rccommendalion to the Dairy Division that lor the purpose of attaining greater uniformity in the grading throughout the Dominion, graders at the different ports be interchanged at more frequent interval*,” wau carried.
