Italy has called up the 1906 class ot conscripts, while four other classes will be called up soon. The Italian Ambassador in London, Signor Bastianini, saw the Foreign Secretary, Viscount Halifax, at the week-end. Trieste was, before the Peace Treaties, part of the Austro-Hun-garian Empire, and after the Great War was given to Italy. The port of Fiume, near by, created a free State in 1920, was alloted to Italy by the Italo-Yugoslav Treaty of 1924.
