AUCKLAND WEST SEAT BY-ELECTION ON MAY 18 CLOSING DAY TO-MORROW (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday With the closing day tomorrow, four nominations have been received for the by-election to fill the vacant Auckland West seat in the House of Representatives. Two received yesterday were those of the official Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Carr, tramway motorman, and of Mr Enoch Naden, barman, of 1 Spring Street, Ponsonby. Previous nominations were those of Mr L. Pickles, who will stand as an independent socialist, and Mr C. G. Watson, the official candidate of the Communist Party. The by-elec-tion will take place on May 18.
