Lower Hospital Levy

The North Canterbury Hospital Board decided yesterday to reduce its levy on local bodies by £13,016 to a total of £96,767, on account of the operations of the Social Security legislation. At the end of March the board had a bank credit balance of £33,161, and Government subsidies outstanding in the maintenance account amounted to £10,016, a total maintenance credit of £43,177. The finance committee estimated that revenue for the current year would amount to £171,047, compared with £75,998 for the year just ended.
