WOMEN’S GOLF
CUP TO MRS BEATTIE The Jennings’s Cup eclectic competition was concluded at St. Andrews on Wednesday in perfect weather. The finals proved very close indeed, three players returning a score of 65 nett, Mrs Beattie, Mrs Berry and Mrs Signal. On the count back the cup goes to Mrs Beattie, although there was not more than two strokes difference between the three over the last nine holes. It usually takes a 6p nett to win the Jenning’s Cup, but it is very gratij tying for three players to return such a good score this year. The | next in order were Mrs Morrison f and Miss Wright, both with nett 66, ‘ followed by Mrs Daldy and Miss j Turnwald with nett 67. ! The next event at St. Andrews is the open day on Monday. Splendid entries have been received, both from the home club and from visi- j tors, so that, given a fine day, a \ great day's golf is expected. Play- j ers are asked to be on the tee strict- j ly to their times, as a very large j field is expected and the “daylight ! I saving" time is over.
