PHYSICAL WELFARE

RECREATION LEADERS CLASSES IN THE WAIKATO HAMILTON ENTHUSIASM The Leaders’ Recreation Association classes conducted by Miss R Stephenson, Waikato Recreation Officer, for the Physical Welfare and Recreation branch, are now in ful! swing in Hamilton, Matamata and Morrinsville. The girls taking this 100 hour course are receiving instruction in keep-fit exercises, dancing, recreational games and community centre activities, based on the latest English and American plans. N On Monday Mr C. A. Shays, of the head office staff, Wellington, visited the Hamilton class and stated that he was very impressed by the keenness and enthusiasm shown by the groups. He said it was the first leaders’ training class under the Physical Welfare Scheme that he had seen, and he was sure that at the completion of the course there would be a set of excellent recreation leaders ready to spread the knowledge and work throughout the Hamilton district.
