FELL UNDER HORSES

TROOPER SUFFERS INJURY ACCIDENT AT DRILL (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) HASTINGS, Monday While engaged in practice drill preparatory to the ceremonial parade of the Wellington-East Coast Mounted Rifles, who are in camp at Waipukurau, Trooper W. Young, aged 19, son of Mr and Mrs A. M. Young, of Waipukurau, fell under the horses and suffered a broken leg and a crushed hand. The horse next to Trooper Young’s lashed out with both hind hooves, causing his horse to shy and unseat him. Before he could get clear of the other horse, it kicked him again, breaking two bones in his leg below the knee and planting its hoof on his hand as he fell.
