PROMOTIONS & TRANSFERS SENIOR OFFICERS RETIRE CHANGES IN TRAFFIC BRANCH (By Telegraph. —Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday Appointments and promotions affecting senior officers of the Railway Department were announced in Wellington to-day. The changes arc consequent on the retirement within recent months of several officers who have completed 40 years’ service. Mr F. G. Craig, chief clerk in the transportation superintendent’s office, Wellington, is to be assistant district traffic manager at Dunedin. Mr F. G. Clark, chief clerk in the district traffic manager’s* office at Invercargill is to be assistant traffic manager at Dunedin. Mr R. Gallagher, assistant traffic manager at Christchurch, is to be assistant district traffic manager at Christchurch. Mr W. M. Mackay, transport officer at Christchurch, is to be assistant traffic manager at Christchurch. Mr C. Aitken, assistant traffic manager at Wanganui, is to be assistant district traffic manager at Wanganui. Mr P. H. Curtis, transport officer at Wanganui, is to be assistant traffic manager at Wanganui. Mr W. T. Homibrooke, assistant traffic manager at Auckland, is to be assistant district traffic manager at Auckland. Mr R. Campbell, transport officer at Auckland, is to be assistant traffic manager at Auckland. Other Traffic Changes Other changes affecting senior officers in the traffic branch of the department are:—Mr M. F. F. Gombitsky, business agent, Auckland, to be transport officer at Auckland; Mr W. C. Bond, traffic inspector, Wanganui, to be business agent at Wanganui; Mr C. P. Riesop, business agent. Wanganui, to be business agent at Auckland; Mr E. T. G. Osborne, officer in charge of the goods branch, Greymouth, to be stationmaster in charge at Westport.

Mr A. W. *l. Miller, stationmaster, Blenheim, is to be officer in charge of the goods branch at Greymouth; Mr J. D. Crisp, shipping clerk, Christchurch, to be stationmaster at Blenheim; Mr F. J. Hoddinott, transportation inspector, Wellington, to be stationmaster at Whangarei; Mr R. Trowland, waggon supply officer, Auckland, to be transportation inspector at Wellington. Mr W. Grinter, stationmaster, Rotorua, is to be stationmaster at Te Kuiti; Mr A. N. Crawford, goods clerk, Taumarunui, to be stationmaster at Rotorua; Mr A. T. Hawken, senior clerk, Wellington, to be chief clerk, transportation superintendent’s office, Wellington; Mr E. R. Wheeler, stationmaster, Levin, to be stationmaster at Helensville.
