DOMINION APPRAISALS GROSS PROCEEDS, £9,963,872 INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The gross proceeds from wool appraised in New Zealand under the British Government purchase up till February 29 is £9,963,872. This represents 571,488 bales, sold at an average of £l7 8s 8d a bale, or 12.22 d a lb. The Dominion wool cheque for last season amounted to £9,220,741 compared with £8,793,873 in 1937-38 and the record of £14.903,257 in 1936-37. The number of bales sold last season was 706,776.
