FAST SWIMMING

WOMAN’S 50 METRES TIME (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Saturday The 50 metres women’s swimming championship of Auckland was won at the Newmarket Amateur Swimming Club’s carnival in the Olympic Pool last night by Miss D. Dunford, of the North Shore Club. Her time was 345, and application will be made to the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association for this to be recognised as a New Zealand record for the distance, for which there has been no record. The runner-up to Miss Dunford was Miss N. Griffin, of the Kaikohe Club, and Mrs V. Karaitiana, Parnell, was third.
