FINAL AUCKLAND GAMES MIDDLEMORE WINS EASILY THREE CENTURIES RECORDED (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Saturday Middlemore won the Auckland senior cricket championship yesterday afternoon decisively. Starting j its last match the previous Saturday \ with a four-point lead, the team I gave its nearest rivals, Grafton and Eden, no chance of overhauling it by defeating Parnell outright. Grafton got a four-point win over Eden to fill the role of runner-up; University beat North Shore, and Y.M.C.A. beat Ponsonby-Balmoral, both decisions on the first innings. V. J. Scott and E. R. Sutherland put up a great partnership. for Y.M.C.A., getting a century each. The fastest century of the season was recorded by W. M. Wallace in Parnell’s second innings. He scored 102 in 48 minutes. It was nurricane hitting, as he got nine sixes and six fours. Positions of teams in the championship after yesterday’s games were:—Middlemore 48, Grafton 42, Eden 37, North Shore 31, Y.M.C.A. and University 24, Parnell 20, Pon-sonby-Balmoral 13. At the end of the 1938-39 season, Middlemore, this season’s winner, was at the bottom of the competition ladder. SENIOR B GAME HAMILTON AND WHITIORA In a match with Whitiora on Saturday the Hamilton senior B team made 112 (J. Everest 46, R. Pedrotti 35, F. Forster 20). Whitiora replied with 58 (Choat not out 15, A. Davies five for 17, F. Forster four 21.
