BROKE INTO CAFE
SENTENCE ON TWO MEN INTENT TO COMMIT CRIME (By Telegraph.—Press Association) GISBORNE, Friday Two years’ probation was granted by Mr Justice Callan in the Supreme Court today to Robert John Pennell and Ronald Horace Russell for breaking and entering the Majestic Cafe, Opotiki, with intent to commit a crime. The accused were prohibited, but the order is not to apply if either enters a military camp or serves overseas. Each \vas ordered to pay by instalments not more than £IOO, to be divided between the insurance companies which suffered by the crime. If either is accepted for military service overseas the probation officer is to secure an allotment from their military pay.
