RAID ON GERMANY

BRITISH FLIERS’ SUCCESS NAVAL BASE RECONNOITRED ATTACKED WITH BOMBS (Official Wireless) (Received April 6, 11.55 a.m.) RUGBY, April 5 The Air Ministry announced that a formation of British aircraft of the Bomber Command yesterday afternoon penetrated the enemy defences in the Jade Estuary and successfully reconnoitred the naval base at Wilhelmshaven, which they attacked with bombs. Further south four enemy destroyers were also attacked and damage is believed to have been done. No damage or casualties were suffered by the British aircraft, ail of which returned safely.
