SOCIAL AFTERNOON
P. Sc T. WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION The monthly social afternoon and meeting of the Post and Telegraph Women’s Association was held on Wednesday, April 3, in the lounge of the Y.M.C.A., which looked very attractive with bowls of dahlias artistically arranged. The association’s president, Mrs E. O. Wood, presided over a large attendance of members and afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Foley, Sweeney, Martin and Norris. During the afternoon an interesting talk on “Patriotic funds and their distribution,” was given by Mrs H. C. Ross, to whom a hearty vote of thanks was accorded. Mrs C. Clark and Mrs Von Sturmer were accorded votes of thanks for their donations of a box of tea and a cake in aid of the patriotic funds Mrs Huntington was appointed delegate to the National Council of Women. It was unanimously decided to assist with the sale of poppies on Poppy Day, April 19. Among those present were:— Mesdames Clark, Woods, Bromley, Sherson, Grant, Buckland, Non is, Hurrell, Hinkley, Von Sturmer, Quill, Cameron, Russell, Steevens, Huntington, Foley, Nodder, Sweeney, Green, Fulton, Ross, Martin, Rhodes. Misses Thomson and Roche.
