HEATED WORDS
AT COUNCIL MEETING “I'LL KNOCK YOU DOWN” At a meeting of the Singleton Municipal Council, says a Sydney paper, there were some heated exchanges between Aldermen. Alderman Brittliffe said to Aiderman Tulloch: “Sit down or I’ll knock you down.” A former council employee said to another alderman: “You dirty cur! You ought to be in Germany under Hitler.” Alderman O'Halloran called for the Mayor’s protection, and asked that the former employee be evicted from the council chambers. The Mayor. Alderman Weedon, called for order. The former employee said to the Mayor: “Look at that thing with a Digger’s badge in his coat!" The Mayor told him: “Get out. and get out quickly!” The town clerk went to ring the police. The former employee went.
