SWIMMING SPORTS
TECHNICAL SCHOOL GIRLS Although the attendance at the Hamilton Technical School Girls’ swimming sports, held yesterday in the Municipal Baths, was adversely affected by the changing of the time of the function from the afternoon to the morning, on account of the Civic Reception to the members of the crew of the Achilles, a most enjoyable time was spent by the interested spectators. Some very fine performances and exciting finishes were witnessed, the competitors being fortunate in the ideal weather conditions for swimming, which prevailed. Miss M. Noble, who was wearing a smart frock of rancho rose spotted silk and a beige felt hat, received the guests. Mrs W. Fraser, wife of the principal, was wearing a tobacco brown lace coat over a floral frock and a large brown hat. The teachers were:—Miss E. M. Madeley, Miss L. E. Eason, Miss L. F. Webster, Miss A. M. Tietjens, Mrs C. F. O’Connor, Miss R. E. M. Roe, and Mrs G. Primrose.
