RACES AT PUKEKOHE HURDLES TO BACHELOR KING HACKENSCHMIDT WINS BOMBAY (B.T.—Special from “Martian”) PUKEKOHE, Saturday Under ideal weather conditions the Franklin Racing Club’s summer meeting was held on the Pukekohe racecourse to-day. The favourite Beeswing had every chance arter jumping- out smartly and being- always one of the leading division. Vi lenient Indicated a return To winning form by sticking on for a meritorious third. Orally, after leading Into the straight, weakened in the last little bit. Beeswing was clear or the field within a furlong and she showed the way along the back to Bronze Trail, Vltement, Orally, Wildore, Lady Acushla, Kakarere, Milanlon and Royal Huntress. Five Turlongs from home Bronze Trail had headed Beeswing and this pair was roliowed at this stage by Orally, Vltement and Lady Acushla. Orally came through to secure the command approaching the turn and she was followed into the straight by Beeswing, Bronze Trail, Vltement, Wildore, Loyal Grant, Kakarere and Tane Mahotu. In a good finish Wildore did best to ’ win by half-a-length from Beeswing with Vltement a neck away. Orally was fourth roliowed hy Milanlon, Lady Acushla, Kakarere and Bronze Trail. Time, 1.29 3-5. Jack Tar then surged to the Trout and was clear coining into the straight from l’liilcourt, Mintlaw, High Sea and Cornish, with High Delight and Mon Acre the handiest or the others. In a good finish Jack Tar held on to win by a neck rrom Mintlaw, with Lady Montana half-a-length away. Phllcourt was right up fourth ahead of Pocket Venus, Cornish, High Delight .
