Copyright) (Received March 1, 3.15 p.m.) BERLIN, Feb. 29 Field-Marshal Goering surprisingly explains the new taxation after the closure of factories. “ The lack of raw materials, the necessity for currency economy, and also the general shortage of labour has caused the closing down of many branches of our industry,” he said. “These are now our serious need.” The Reich Defence Council, of which Field-Marshal Goering is president, estimated that £100,000,000 is required for this purpose, and has decided that every enterprise, excepting those associated with agriculture and overseas shipping, must be taxed according to investments on their premises.
