BUILDING STATISTICS

FEBRUARY IN HAMILTON ANOTHER TEN PRIVATE HOMES Building activity in Hamilton is being maintained at a fairly brisk rate in both the erection of private homes and commercial structures, although in the latter case the values of individual buildings are lower than for some months. Building figures for February indicate that more permits were issued than for any month since last October. During February 21 permits were issued by the Hamilton Borough Council, compared with 27 for February, 1939. The value of the buildings amounted to £13,231 compared with £12,111 last year. Ten permits were issued for private homes to be erected in the borough, compared with 11 for February of last year. The value of these homes will be £9851.
