Mrs L. C. Redmond, Hamilton, has returned from a holiday in Nelson. Miss Beryl Finlay, who has been the £Uest of Miss Irene Bellamy, Okoroire, has returned to Hamilton. Mrs A. R. Standish, New Plymouth, was a recent visitor to Hamilton. * • • • Mrs S. Searelle, who went from Wellington to Auckland to meet her son, a member of the crew of H.M.S. Achilles, was in Hamilton yesterday. She and her son went to Wellington last night. Miss Margot Cormack returned to Auckland today from a visit to Mrs F. E. Fisher, Hamilton. Mrs Maurice Collier, whose husband leaves for overseas service with the Second Echelon, is staying with her mother-in-law, Mrs A. B. Collier, Hamilton. In connection with the presentation of a Maori cloak to Captain Parry of the Achilles, readers may be interested to know that Princess Te Puea’s foreman carver has been requested by the officers of the Monowai to design a crest which is now being carved and will be presented with a covering cloak to the commander of the Monowai, when commissioned. A similar presentation was made to the battleship New Zealand in the Great War. TIRAU Misses Joan and Ruth Allen, Tirau, are spending a holiday touring the North Island. Mrs Pilcher has returned home after spending a holiday at Mount Maunganui. • • • • Mrs McKernan has arrived back from an extended vacation at Hastings.
